Usage Guide

Confirm the symptoms first, then choose a troubleshooting path

Connection issues often come from one part of the account status, subscription cache, system permissions, routing rules or route environment. Start with the Q&A closest to the symptoms and follow the steps in order. Verify the result after each step. Do not reinstall the client, change rules and switch networks at the same time, or it will be difficult to tell which action worked. For plan balances, orders and billing cycles, rely on the user panel; local client records are for troubleshooting reference only.

Account and Subscription

Handle account setup, subscription retrieval, configuration updates and device changes. Once the account details are verified, continue troubleshooting in the client.

Open Account Overview →
What do I need to set up a VPN PY account?

No email address is required—just a username and password. Choose a username that is easy to recognize but not reused on other services, and store your password securely. After setup, open the user panel to view plans, client downloads and subscription details. If your browser autofills an old account, verify the username before submitting to avoid entering the wrong account.

Where can I find my subscription after purchasing a plan?

After choosing a plan, sign in to the user panel and find the current account subscription under Account Overview or Client Downloads. Select your platform and client type first, then copy or import the matching content. Subscription details are delivered through your account and should not be obtained from public webpages or unfamiliar messages. Whenever you change clients, return to the user panel for the current content.

How do I update the subscription link?

Find the VPN PY configuration in the client’s subscription manager, choose Update Subscription or Refresh Configuration, and wait for the route list to reload. If old routes still appear, confirm that you are signed in to the original account, then retrieve the subscription again from the user panel and import it over the existing one. Do not manually edit addresses, parameters or route names in the subscription, or future updates may fail.

Do I need to purchase another plan when I change devices?

No. Changing devices does not require another purchase. VPN PY supports unlimited simultaneous devices and works with Windows / macOS / iOS / Android / Linux. Sign in to the same account on the new device, then get the compatible client and subscription from the user panel. When retiring the old device, delete its saved subscription and sign-in state to keep the account’s device access organized.

Connection and Troubleshooting

Start with the client status, system network permissions and routing rules. A clear sequence of steps helps identify the issue faster.

The client says it is connected, but webpages still will not load. What should I do?

Disconnect the current client connection, switch to another route in the same region, reconnect, then fully close and reopen the target webpage. If the issue continues, check whether the client has system network permission, whether another app changed the system proxy, and whether the browser has a separate proxy configured. Change only one setting at a time and verify the result before continuing, so the cause remains identifiable.

Why does the proxy work everywhere except one app?

This is usually related to the client’s routing mode, the target app’s network implementation or system permissions. Temporarily switch the client’s proxy mode to check whether a rule is matching incorrectly. Then see whether the app uses separate network settings or has been paused by power-saving or background restrictions. If other apps work normally, keep the current route and adjust the routing rule for that app instead of repeatedly changing accounts.

What should I check if no routes appear after importing a subscription?

First confirm that you copied the subscription for the current client from the user panel, rather than a browser address bar or an expired local record. Delete the blank configuration in the client, import the subscription again and run an update. Also check that the client can access the network, the device time is correct and no subscription content was lost during copying. If the import screen asks for a configuration type, choose the type indicated in the user panel.

How can I restore a connection that stopped working after a system restart?

After opening the client, check that the subscription is still present, then confirm that system proxy or network extension permissions are available. Some system updates require network permission to be approved again; follow the system prompts, then select a route and reconnect. Do not run multiple proxy clients at once before a connection is established. Competing clients can modify the same system settings, making the interface look normal while traffic does not use the selected route.

What should I do if the connection stays up but nothing loads after switching from Wi-Fi to another network?

After a network change, the old connection may retain an outdated session. Disconnect VPN PY, wait for the device to finish joining the new network, then reconnect to the current route. If the client supports automatic reconnection, enable it when background operation is permitted. If loading still fails, switch routes and reopen the target app so DNS and the connection session refresh together.

route.select

Speed and Routes

Choose routes based on the target region and actual use. Latency is only a reference; judge the final result in the target app.

View Route List →
How should I choose a route during peak-hour slowdowns?

Keep the target region unchanged and compare different routes within that region. Prioritize real webpage loading, video startup and file-transfer performance rather than the client’s ranking alone. If the entire region is congested, compare a nearby region. After switching routes, reopen the target app so the old connection closes; frequent back-and-forth changes can make results unreliable because of caching and old sessions.

Why is downloading still slow when the route has low latency?

Latency measures the round-trip time for a request, while download speed is also affected by the local network, target-service throttling, congestion on international links and the efficiency of a single connection. They are not equivalent. Start by checking responsiveness with a normal webpage, then compare transfers from different target services. If only one site is slow, the issue is more likely with that service or its route and may not require replacing the entire client configuration.

Should I choose a nearby route or one in the target region?

For everyday browsing and work, start with a geographically nearby route with a shorter path. For content tied to a specific region, choose an exit in that region. VPN PY covers 90+ countries / 200+ routes, so you can build route groups for different uses. Judge the result in the target app; the same route may perform differently for webpages, Streaming, AI tools and downloads.

What should I do if a streaming service or AI tool says the region is unavailable?

Confirm that the selected route’s region matches the target service’s requirements, then fully quit and reopen the app so it does not reuse a cached session from before the route change. In a browser, clear the site’s cache and data before signing in again. If the message remains, compare another route in the same region. Regional detection is performed by the target service, so a working connection does not guarantee identical results on every route.

Billing and Refunds

Plan prices, data resets and order status are shown in the user panel. To request a refund, submit the relevant order from the purchasing account.

View Plans →
What monthly subscription plans are available?

Monthly plans include ¥9.9/month with 60GB, ¥18/month with 250GB, and ¥28/month with 500GB. Choose based on actual browsing, Streaming and file-transfer needs rather than a single task. Monthly data resets each month on the activation date. Check your current plan and usage in the user panel; to make a change, open the relevant option on the Plans page.

Do data packages expire?

Data packages remain valid until used and never expire. Options include ¥158/300GB, ¥358/1000GB and ¥658/3000GB. They suit users with irregular usage who want to budget according to actual consumption. Before purchasing, distinguish monthly subscriptions from data packages: monthly data resets on the activation date, while a data package remains available until depleted. Their billing models are different.

When does monthly subscription data reset?

Monthly subscription data resets each month on the activation date rather than at the start of the calendar month. Check the current cycle shown in the user panel when reviewing remaining data. After renewing or changing a plan, refresh the account overview before checking again. Local client statistics may use different measurements and are for reference only; the user panel is authoritative for balances and billing cycles.

How is a mid-cycle plan upgrade calculated?

The upgrade price difference is converted into remaining days. Before proceeding, check the current plan, remaining cycle and intended new plan in the user panel, then confirm the result shown there. Do not place another order instead of using the upgrade option, as this can create multiple records to reconcile. After upgrading, refresh the account overview and client subscription so the plan status and route configuration stay synchronized.

Which payment methods are supported, and how do I request a refund?

VPN PY supports Alipay / WeChat Pay / USDT and offers a 7-day refund policy. To request a refund, sign in to the account used to purchase the plan, open a ticket from the user panel, select the relevant order and describe the request. Before submitting, confirm that the order and account match, and keep the order status and payment record in the panel. Follow progress in the same ticket instead of submitting duplicates.
